don't even think about forgetting
that which makes us who we are
and continually hold tight to
the thread connecting thus far.
don't let go of that single string
that ties us to each other and
wraps around to tether our hearts
and pulls us hand in hand.
don't forget that single line
on which all our lives seem to hang
that keeps us close and is threaded with
our words, our moments, our secrets that we sang.
